Casa Avanzini is the centuries-old home of the now extinct Avanzini family of Curio.
The family consisted of notaries, doctors, clergymen and politicians who were an important pivot for the cultural, economic and artistic development of the region in the past. The last descendant, Pietro Avanzini, bequeathed the house to the municipality of Curio.
The purpose of the association Amici di Casa Avanzini is to promote the public use of Casa Avanzini, to affirm its cultural importance and to defend the donor's intention. It is an association within the meaning of the Swiss Civil Code, Art. 60 ff., founded in 2000. After a period of inactivity, it was relaunched with the birth of the Federation of Artisans' Associations in Ticino.
The association aims to support craftsmen and artists in the Malcantone Region within the scope of its possibilities. It wants to act as a bridge with people and organisations outside the Region and Canton Ticino to make Casa Avanzini and its projects known.
He gives his support to the Glati project.
